40th Anniversary

40 years of SwedChamHK: 40 Days of celebrations!

Forty years ago, a handful of Swedish companies planted a flag in Hong Kong. Today, the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong is one of the city’s most trusted bridges between Nordic innovation and Asia’s most dynamic gateway. In 2026, we mark this milestone not with a single evening, but with 40 Days of Celebration: a season of events, encounters and experiences uniting the Swedish and Hong Kong business communities like never before.

SwedChamHK Business Awards 2026

We are proud to launch the SwedCham HK Business Awards 2026, a platform to highlight extraordinary contributions, leadership, and innovation within our business community.

SwedChamer of the Year

Recognizing an individual or organization that has shown exceptional dedication and commitment to the SwedCham HK community. This award honors those who actively foster engagement, build meaningful connections, and embody the collaborative spirit of the chamber.

Young Professional of the Year

Celebrating an outstanding young professional (under 35) who demonstrates exceptional drive, leadership, and promise within their field. This category highlights emerging talent driving positive change and bringing fresh perspectives to the Swedish-Hong Kong business network.

Pioneer of the Year

Honoring a business that leads the way through groundbreaking innovation, forward-thinking solutions, or sustainable impact. This award recognizes those who challenge the status quo and pave new paths for the future of business in Hong Kong and beyond.

The award winners will be celebrated and announced during our main anniversary event, the Gala Dinner & Rooftop Afterparty, on Friday, 27 November 2026. You are welcome to nominate yourself, your colleague, your company, or another deserving professional within our network.

One partnership. Forty days of presence.

From thought-leadership forums to cultural showcases, networking receptions and the grand anniversary gala, your brand will be woven into every moment, seen and remembered by the decision-makers, diplomats and entrepreneurs who shape Swedish-Hong Kong relations. Activate, don’t just appear. Partners are invited to bring their brand to life in creative ways: a curated tasting, a product showcase, a sustainability installation or a signature moment at a flagship event.

Visibility that travels

Your brand will feature across SwedCham’s newsletter, social media, anniversary campaign materials, press coverage and on-site branding for forty days of consistent, elegant exposure in a community where reputation matters.

Access that money alone cannot buy

Exclusive tickets and priority access to the celebration’s most sought-after moments, including the anniversary gala and invitation-only gatherings: rooms where lasting relationships begin.

A moment that will not come again

A 40th anniversary happens once. Partnership opportunities are deliberately limited, ensuring each brand the prominence it deserves. Stand beside us, and be remembered as a company that honoured four decades of shared success, and helped open the door to the next forty.

Main partnerships: Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze, Supporter package, Individual member.

Working the Swedish Way

A cultural education series for professionals in Swedish companies

Three-part journey into how Swedish culture shapes leadership, communication and everyday work life.

The Swedish Work Culture Series with Lena Nordström gives you an insider understanding of how Swedish organizations actually work. Across three sessions, you will decode the leadership mindset, communication style and cultural logic behind Swedish companies.

The real value comes from attending all three sessions, where each build on the previous one to reveal the full picture of how to work, communicate and collaborate effectively with Swedish organizations.

Members

HKD 980 per session. HKD 2,500 for the full series (3 sessions).

Non-Members

HKD 1,680 per session. HKD 3,900 for the full series (3 sessions).

Occasion 1 · 4 May 2026, 3:00 to 5:00 PM

Why Swedes Work the Way They Do

Culture, values & mindset

Understand the why behind Swedish workplace behavior.

  • Flat organizations and trust-based leadership
  • Consensus and delegated responsibility
  • Swedish values and upbringing shaping the professional mindset
  • Lagom. Balance in ambition, feedback and leadership
  • Participant reflections

Talking Like a Swede

Communication, feedback & meetings

Understand how Swedes communicate at work and why they communicate the way they do.

  • Communication the Swedish way. Short, factual e-mails, few formal phrases and an expectation that different experiences and points of view are heard.
  • Feedback and asking questions. Respectful and positive feedback, where asking “Why?” is often a genuine question rather than questioning someone’s competence or decision.
  • Speaking up without creating conflict. The sometimes confusing Swedish combination of being reluctant to create conflict while also being quite frank about opinions and proposing improvements.
  • Why Swedes communicate this way. How growing up in Sweden, from pre-school and school to university, together with ideas such as Jante and flat organizational structures, shape expectations at work.

Occasion 3 · 15 October 2026, 3:00 to 5:00 PM

Being Swedish at Work, Being Yourself

Inclusion, wellbeing & long-term success

Show how Swedish companies think long-term, about people, balance, and sustainability, and how non-Swedes can thrive without losing themselves.

  • Work-life balance (and why it’s taken seriously)
  • Equality, inclusion & psychological safety
  • Sustainability as a mindset, not a marketing slogan
  • Career growth in Swedish organizations (less hierarchy, more responsibility)

Fireside-style discussion, and an open Q&A: “Things I never dared to ask about Swedish culture”
